Jilbere Ceramic tools Porcelain Series Turbo Dryer

The dryer battle is a long but true one. I decided I needed a new dryer when I so smartly gorilla glued the comb onto the dryer so that it wouldn't pop off into the tub. Why did I do it? I paid a decent penny for the comb; it is the one that is break resistant. I believe I paid about $20-30 for it and I have had it for over five years, way more than any I have had before. This comb has no breaks in it at all, and is holding up strong as ever. I will provide the link for that amazing comb below.

The first dryer up is the Jilbere Ceramic Tools Porcelain Series Turbo Dryer for sold at Sally Beauty Supply for $47.99.

I have cut and copied Sally's claim of this dryer and will review if it lives up to it's claims:

  • Ergonomic easy grip handle and lightweight design
  • 2000W powerful, quiet long life AC motor
  • 6 speed/heat setting combinations
  • Removable filter for easy cleaning
  • 8mm concentrator nozzle
  • Cool shot button

  • Ergonomic and easy grip handle and lightweight design

I didn't really notice anything special about the grip, but when my hands are a little oily I get very little slip. Lightweight? No, it is a normal weight dryer to me. It isn't super heavy but it is not a light dryer where I can hold it for too long.

The 6 speed feature is definitely great for adjusting to temperatures for different hair textures. I find that the highest can burn the dickens out of my hair and it actually has. The 2000W is very powerful and gives your hair a straighter finish than many other dryers I have used. The noise level is what it is. I am saying that it isn't a biggie to me. I don't find it to be super quiet, but for the short period I am using it. It is tolerable.

Removable filter for easy cleaning. YES! I have moved this several times to keep my dryer clean. It does collect dust after a while and should be cleaned. Yet, it is easy to clean and to put back on.

8mm concentrator nozzle. I don't use it. I have glued the Solano Hair comb onto it.

The cool shot button is great and I find that It makes it easy to give my hair a good cool over an not have to adjust buttons. It is in a great space and I find it convenient.

All over this dry is so worth it. I actually have two of them that I purchased at the same time. I bought one to give to my sister and never got around to it, (she lives in another state). She eventually purchased her own, so my dryer wasn't needed and it was way beyond the return date. The way dryers go out in my house, I figured I would need a new dryer soon. Well, NOPE, I haven't. The longevity of life of this dryer is not only amazing for the price, but the fact that there isn't a decline in the quality of this unity after all this time is unfathomable.

$47.99 is a steal for a dryer. You can also use a coupon and get this for an outstanding discount. :) Check it out.

I purchased another dryer because I needed to attach my diffuser. After trying to pry the Gorilla Glued Comb from the dryer with no prevail, I decided to purchase another dryer. The CHI ROCKET! (I will review that one next)

    Back to Blogging...

    Happy New Years,

In February 2016. My goal for 2016 is to have more reviews for you and more school journals going on.  I have a lot of reviews for you as I am a shopaholic. Currently I am taking six classes and have finally decided on what I am going to go for, for my next degree. Psychology, in case you were wondering. I am curious as too anyone else going to school right now and what are some of the trials and tribulations that you are going through at this moment. School really keeps me busy, as if having four boys wouldn't do that for me. I have teenagers and a preteen. Once a week I plan to have a blog for you guys. The Sunday Paper :) on Hair She Comes.

QVC Junky #7 - Falling in Love Olive Oil Scrub by Philosophy

When I bought this home it was at the right place and during the right time. I had just came home from being outside in the rain and humidity ,after the down pour, was severe. I hopped into the shower and when I applied this to my scrub, the slug that came off was actually embarrassing. It was skunky and filthy as if I hadn't showered that day at all. My skin felt exfoliated and smelled heavenly. Once I put the lotion on, the smell was locked in and the moisture was light. I felt soft and girly all over. The price for this is kind of steep. I ordered this 3 more times and then stopped because I couldn't make sense of spending $80 on a duo of lotion and scrub. I just couldn't. While I would love to continue to use this product, if Philosophy would come down to $50 for this, I could rationalize that spending. I already purchase their Purity which is a must have since I wear makeup. Well I am just starting to wear make up, but you get it. Anywho, if you have the money this is an awesome buy. The smell is amazing and it keeps your skin oh so soft. You don't have to wear perfume afterwards. You just lotion and go. I didn't notice any dry patches on my normally dry skin. I felt it was a good buy maybe once a year, but for my frugal brain for body products, this isn't feasible.

3 weeks before school is back in session

And... I want to come and give a brief update. I am on the Deans List for the semester that just past. I am trying to finish up my classes for My English Writing degree. I was a little nervous that Forbes listed the English Degree as one of the worst degrees ever. It is ok.. because I am taking English Writing, LOL not just basic English. No, it actually isn't a waste. I love writing and I have to do what I feel is right for me, not right for Forbes. I am truly happy class is starting back up in 3 weeks. The children will be back in school, and that means less yelling for me. Just have a house of teenagers and one 9 year old and tell me how you keep the peace. They will embark on new adventures of their lives and I will embark on my own. Continuing to work toward my goal in hopes of success. I have a lot to review and while I don't and won't have much time to review these items. When December Hits, I am going to pump out review after review. Well, with the 5 weeks I have to work with. Next year is going to be a very hard time for me. I am going straight through with no vacations. I just can't do it... I have so much work to do and no enough time. I have to study for my GRE all while studying for my regular classes. This means 2 days on campus, 2 days on my old campus and 2 days at the library and one rest day. I will manage. It will just take a few days, like always, to get things adjusted and into perspective. Well that is all for now. I will update in 3 months :)

    College Girl Gone Missing 2015

    Happy New Years 2015

Ok, New Years is long gone, but I am still here. I am now a Junior in College, and have changed my major for my junior year. I graduated with my Paralegal Degree, from Middlesex County College. I have been really working my but off trying to graduate before my son who turns 16 this year meets me there. :)

My hair, well you should know, has been falling out. I have hyperthyroid and Graves Diseases and my hair is falling out profusely. I have been on medications of all sorts and the doctors are talking about removing, radioactive or controlling my thyroid. I truly am stumped at the moment as what I am going to do.

With all that is going on, I am trying to not only keep my house under wraps, but focus on school. Lets face it folks, school isn't cheap. So far I am taking 2 Psychology Classes, 2 English Writing Classes and 1 History class. I am already thinking about next semester One yoga class, One elective, and two English writing classes. If you have not guessed it already, I have changed my major to English - Writing. You might as well say Writing. NO, I am far from the perfect grammar queen, but I inspire to be better.

What about that IPL machine I was using from my last post? Well, I can honestly say today that it is still effective. Not only is the hair still gone, after I have taken Biotin to help me, I have very few hairs that rebirthed themselves :) I do get those waxes and Mrs. Kitty. Sorry if that was TMI, I do love sharing.

I would love to say I will be back next week. Maybe with all the writing I will be doing, doctors appointments I will be attending, and things going on in  college and at home, this could be my public journal of some sort. Hmmmmmm, I think I have to leave out the juicy gossip ;)

Well let me go, my almost 16 year old son requires the attention of his mom :)

    Until Next time :)

QVC JUNKY # 1 - Me SMOOTH By Elos

    Hello, Hello

Long time no Blog. I know I have been a bad girl, but...I have a lot of reviews I am going to be getting into, because while I am studying my subconscious listens to QVC that is on my tv and my fingers start to dial 1800-buy-to-much-.com... I am thankful my husband hasn't revoked the cable as of yet, but as with any addiction you know we shopaholics will find a way ;) LOL

Well today I am reviewing the Me Smooth by Elos and let met tell you; I bought this with the notion I would have been sending it back but guess what, I wanted to try it. So I paid $299, five minutes before the next todays special value was to start and something told me to just try the unit, what did I have to lose. So I dialed automated and prayed I didn't get a dropped call or hit the end call button by accident.

    Reason I bought this:
I started swim classes in January of 2013 and well even though I have been shaving for 20 years, I seemed to have grown allergic to shaving. Yes, I am making up the allergic part but the break outs were scary. I would shave every 3 days so that I wasn't wolfing and my pubic hairs wasn't going to grab anyone's leg in my class while making a fool of myself. The break point was when I went to shave and a hair bump was raised high, I pulled the shaver over it and it cut the top of the bump off and a hair protruded... are you grossed out yet.. Well it hurt burned like hell. I also shaved my whole lady friend and used Nair.. but the chemical and my skin don't get along and the hair bumps were so vicious I had so many hair bumps and grew frustrated with trying to get the hair out. So... I couldn't continue that.

While waiting for my Me Smooth to come in...GUESS WHAT I DID... I Epilated my armpits and they were bleeding so I decided to get a wax and it went smoothly. I was in pain with the Vajajay area but as I say to people "The first time is the worst time, after that it is smooth shaving..I mean sailing" LOL . When my Unit came in, I immediately called the company and asked was it okay if I used it several times a week and extended the treatment; they told me it was ok and that it couldn't hurt me. I then proceeded to use the unit doubling the treatment time, tripling the days of use. My bikini area was clean in four weeks and no growth months later even after stopping maintenance treatments, (I don't advise you stop, twice a month isn't going to kill you) My underarms took all of the seven weeks and probably a little more.

Ladies, you truly start to see hairy pits and five o'clock shadows when your hair free. I kept noticing and trust I wasn't looking for it, hairy pits on women of all shades and sizes. Those five o'clock shadows is no joke either.. I kept noticing that on myself only when I started shaving multi times weekly. Normally I only had to shave once and shadows wasn't an issue.

My only issue with this unit ladies and it goes with laser as well is before I used this, I never had to wear deodorant. I literally only perspired when I was about to get my monthly visit. ALL OF A SUDDEN... POW... I was wearing protection all the time thinking my period was coming but no... the Me Smooth unit happened to affect my glands and it is a known issue with laser and IPL.. with enough research... But would I take a do over if I could? NOPE.. I would use it again in a heart beat. I absolutely love being hair free. You can use this unit from cheek to toe.

Price: $299 TSV ($328 plus shipping)

    What you get:

What you get if you order from QVC, is the ME Smooth Unit, the power cord, a case to hold it in, a cap to put over it when you don't have a cartridge in, 2 cartridges with 6000 pulses and the instructions and box.

    Overall:
This unit is amazing, but you will have to tweek it for your own personal use. Will it work in 7 weeks? I doubt it would have for me but it works none the less. Try it how I tried it, but consult with the company first as things may have changed. This works for all shades of skin from pale to dark. Don't be afraid.

:) most of all QVC offers a 90 day return on this unit.

    Good Luck
