Henna & Indigo Again Again Again - April 24, 2011

April 24, 2011

I henna'd yesterday about 12:30 p.m. I Steamed it for 45 minutes and left it on overnight and washed it out this morning. I didn't clarify my hair like normal before applying henna.

Today I washed out the Henna and used Indigo on towel Dried Hair. I steamed my Indigo in for about 45 minutes as well and then left it on for about 2 hours.

The think I did different this time was rinse for about 30 minutes after my henna and 30 minutes after my indigo. I applied several conditioners as well as Washing with HSH Chocolate Soy Milk Shampoo, and with WEN. I DC'd with a splash of Vatika for about 45 minutes under the steamer. I rinsed that out well and brushed through with my Tangle Teezer after using my Rake Comb this time.

I lost a little more hair than normal butttttttt.... I also just got a fresh relaxer. So it is expected.
One of my wonderful kids closed my vents on my Steamer and I didn't know so it was scolding my scalp. Felt like someone scrambled eggs on it. LOL (not really LOL, it hurts)

My hair still felt like it was tugging even though I washed twenty times and rinsed for so long. Not as bad as usual though. I got less residue on my Tangle teezer. I usually get a black waxy build :/

THENNNNNNNNN:::::::

My dear Husband helped me to rollerset. I was getting utterly frustrated parting the first two rollers was the easy part. Then came the 3rd and 4th. I had about 7 rollers in and I wasn't pleased past the first two. SOoooooo I had these large 2.5 rollers and the Hair wouldn't be nice. Once my husband came in and started to help me it was smooth sailing. I got under my dryer for about 45 minutes then went outside in the nice sun for about 2 hours. Came back in and removed them. :) To my suprise I had a wonderful bouncy Rollerset. I wrapped it up and put two pumps of Buriti Oil and and put my satin cap on and my Nostrom Head Wrap. I took it off my wrap is tighter than a virgin out the womb LOL.

I love it and most of all I am so glad I can come together with my husband to do something I love and he loves to see me in.

:)

My Henna and Indigo Came out well :)

Wen Review, New purchase, Oils & More April 20, 2011

Okay So I bought the Wen a few months ago Sweet Almond Mint. Ohhhhh.

I looked in the discovery kit and found a Hair cleanser 12 oz., A texture Balm, A styling Creme and the Remoist Intense Treatment.

I wet my hair the same way I'd prepare to use my Hair One, I applied some rubbed the Hair Cleanser through and splashed again. rubbing it more as it foamed up very well. I washed my hair with this one to two times and well..... I love it. I think it is definitely softened my hair up a little more than Hair One. It brings out the best in my natural hair. Makes the Curls pop like no other.

I love the Wen Texture Balm for the control. I rub this in my palm and then rub hands together before applying this to my hair line. It keeps them in check.

I don't really care for the Styling cream at all. Nope. It was like rubbing nothing on my hair. No added benefit, basically to me a waste of space. Will try it with my Roller sets. Meh...

The Wen Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment worked well as I left it on over night after doing my Henna. I want to give a different review of using this on a normal basis not after doing a Henna. Yet, I like it even after that.

The WEN comb is lousy and I hate it. It is pure garbage to me. I own a Bone Comb/seamless comb and this was nothing to compare. I don't use it.

HENNA- I love Henna. A few blogs ago I let you see my mix and it in my hair. Henna for me is the Best thing since Sliced cheese. I love it. I look forward to my monthly coloring. Yes for me it is a double dooer. ;)

I mix it with a conditioner to make sure I get a great conditioning effect from it. This month April 30 I will be doing a Henna and indigo 2 step. I will sleep in the Henna Overnight to get a good set in color. I will also be mixing a fresh batch to see if it works differently then letting it sit in the freezer.
Henna is all new to me but I am trying to see what works best and when. or Wen LOL

Oils Oils Oils, My Henna is going to have some new oils to add into it. They raised the price Of Amla Oil and I am now trying the Vatika Oil. I have a new Henna Recipe which removes the Amla since Vatika has it in there and replaces with Vatika.

I bougth some Buriti Oil from Sallys. I am still loving the Argan oil but a little mad they raised their prices. Yet when you compare the Argan to the price of the Morrocan oil. I will head for the Argan any day. Plus it works wonderfully.

I will be leaving a review on both oils in a future Blog. How I love or don't love them and how I use them.

DO YOU Want a review or a Blog on something I haven't Blogged on already? Let me know :)

Update in Regimen - April 16, 2011

Due to the recent relaxer I received I won't be wigging monthly. WILL I STOP? HELL NO! LOL I am going to wear roller sets and play with my hair some. Might toss on a Half Wig here and there, for about 3 months. After 3 months I will wig it for another 3 months. Then relax again. I love being relaxed. I have been natural before and While I love it when I do it. I never did it to follow anyone. I never did it because I heard of someone doing it or thought my relaxed hair was ugly. I also have pretty much always had a decent length and a healthy head of hair. Any Choices you make; going bald, going natural, relaxing, coloring, or any choice you choose to make. Make sure your happy with it. :) At the end of the day you must live with your decision :)

Spring is in the Hair - April 13, 2011

April is here, lots of rain, lots of cloudy days.

Seems to be unconciously my favorite time of the year to wear my hair out. LOL

I got my hair done yesterday, Relaxer, CUT, Cut and more cut.

I recently less than 2 weeks ago Henna'd my hair. I was afraid of the color fading. NOpe not one bit, not only did my relaxer not fade my hair. My hair was in the best condition ever after relaxing my hair and I toss the coins up to the Henna.

My Henna experience was great, Minus the drips here and there and every where.

My mixture consisted of the same as last time minus the paprika that got feet and got lost.

Mix:

Alma oil two cap fuls

Sugar - 1/4 cup

Black Tea - about 2 cups

Jamila Henna - 2 boxes

1 cup of conditioner my favorite

4 table spoons of Lemon Juice

Indigo - seperately mixed then added to the Henna Mix.

I got under the steamer this time. While drippage was a problem, the not leaving it on for five hours was awesome. I left it on for 1 hour under the steamer and 2 hours w/0.

I then washed like crazy, then washed like crazy again. Rinsed and Deep conditioned for an hour.

My hair definitely felt better than before but now I get it. My hair feels much better a wash or two after the initial Henna episode.

Yesterdays relaxer section left my New Growth hair that had henna on it even more silky then normal. I can say right now, I won't and don't have plans on giving up my henna.

I used Motions Relaxer with oil moisturizers, Motions Neutralizing shampoo, Aphogee Leave in conditioner, Aphogee green tea and Her Styler Serum.

I received a much needed cut, MUCH needed. I think it looks wonderful. Henna again in May :D
